Account & Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. About this policy

This Deletion Policy explains how you can delete your AIVA account and the personal data associated with it, what is removed when you do, how long it takes, and the limited situations where we may need to retain some data. AIVA is operated by Kuku Technologies Limited (“Company”, “we”, “us”). Please read it together with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

2. What deletion means for AIVA

AIVA answers the calls you don’t take and sends you a summary. When you delete your account, we:

  • Turn off the call forwarding that diverts your missed calls to AIVA, so calls ring only your own phone again.
  • Remove your profile and preferences — name, opening language, assistant voice, and notification settings.
  • Remove the call records AIVA created for you — the transcripts, summaries, and extracted details of the calls it handled on your behalf.
  • Remove caller information stored in connection with your calls (caller numbers and the signals derived from them).
  • Remove the device registration used to send you notifications.

Signing out is not the same as deleting. Signing out logs you out on the device (and turns forwarding off); it does not erase your account or data. Deletion is permanent.

3. How to delete your account

  • In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm.
  • By email: write to support@kukufm.com from your registered number or email address requesting deletion.

4. Call audio

AIVA does not store the audio of your calls on its own systems — we keep only the written transcript and summary, and sensitive items such as OTPs and card numbers are removed before anything is stored. Our voice technology provider records calls on their side and retains that recording for up to 90 days, after which it is deleted.

5. How long deletion takes

  • We delete your data from our systems within 7 days of receiving your request.
  • We notify you 48 hours in advance before permanent deletion.
  • We run regular disposals and erase personal data once it is no longer needed.

6. Data we may retain

In limited cases we may retain certain data after deletion, where the law requires it or to protect legitimate interests, including:

  • Records we are legally required to keep (for example, tax and accounting records, or to comply with other legal or regulatory obligations);
  • Billing and payment records, kept until your account is deleted and thereafter for the minimum period required by law;
  • Information needed to resolve disputes or enforce our Terms.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, such data is retained for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years, unless a longer period is mandated by applicable law.

7. Caller data

A caller’s number, and any reputation signal derived from your calls, is personal data. We store it only to provide the screening service to you, keep it encrypted, access-controlled and retention-bounded, and remove the caller data tied to your account when your account is deleted — except where retention is required as described in Section 6.

8. Your related rights

Deletion is one of your rights. You may also access, correct, or export your data, or withdraw consent — see the Your Rights section of our Privacy Policy.

9. Contact & grievances
